034Motorsport Billet Aluminum Upper Dogbone Mount Insert, MkV/MkVI Volkswagen Golf/GTI/R/Jetta/GLI and 8P Audi A3/S3 & 8J Audi TT/TTS/TTRS

This billet aluminium upper insert is designed for 2009-on Mk5 and Mk6 Volkswagen Golf, GTI, Golf R, Jetta and GLI models and the 8P Audi A3 and S3 and 8J TT, TTS and TT RS running a lower dogbone mount insert. 034Motorsport found that with only the lower puck restrained, violent drivetrain shocks such as burnout-induced wheel hop let the upper puck rotate forward, putting a bending load on the dogbone arm that can bend or even break it and leave the engine unconstrained. The upper insert slips into the front void of the upper puck to match the lower insert, keeping loads in the direction the arm was designed for and compressing both pucks evenly to reduce wear on the lower one. The kit pairs a clear anodised, CNC-machined 6061 billet upper insert with a water-jet cut aluminium lower insert spacer that stops the two inserts touching and vibrating, and installation takes about an hour.
