This phenolic intake manifold spacer is CNC-machined for Audi 10-valve inline five-cylinder engines to help lower intake temperatures. At 8mm (5/16 in) thick, it limits heat transfer from the cylinder head into the intake manifold and creates extra room for fitting EFI fuel rails. The kit includes the spacer, two intake manifold gaskets and the installation hardware. Because the 10V intake manifold sits in tight confines, some grinding may be needed for clearance, which 034Motorsport considers worthwhile for the lower intake temperatures.
