This low-temperature thermostat opens at 70°C, compared with the 87°C of most stock thermostats, and suits many Audi and Volkswagen I5, V6 and VR6 engines. Opening earlier gets coolant moving through the radiator sooner, so the engine runs cooler. It is a direct-fit replacement and comes with a new O-ring. It does not suit Volkswagen or Audi four-cylinder engines or later cars with electric thermostats.
