The APR Carbon Fibre Closed Cold Air Intake is a sealed intake system for MQB platform cars with the 1.8T or 2.0T engine, listed for the Audi A3, S3, TT and TTS and the Mk7 Volkswagen Golf GTI and Golf R. APR designed it to improve mass airflow while keeping adequate filtration, using a volute-shaped filter housing that spreads pressure evenly across the filter, directional vanes at the entrance and a sealed path that takes air from the grille, close to the front edge of the bonnet. APR says owners can expect extra horsepower and torque across the power band, a more direct throttle feel, enhanced engine and turbo sound and, depending on driving style, possibly better fuel economy. The TT and TTS need inlet adapter CI100033-C, models with Secondary Air Injection need breather filter CI100020-A, and the Mk7 Jetta GLI needs inlet adapter CI100033-E.
