APR Ignition Coils are a plug-and-play replacement for the factory coils on MQB engines, listed here for the Audi S3 and RS3 (8V) and the Volkswagen Golf GTI and Golf R Mk7 and Mk7.5. APR says they deliver 10% more energy output than stock, giving a stronger and more consistent spark. APR also states that the popular swap to coils from higher output Audi RS models, such as the 2.5T, is no more powerful than the factory coils on 1.8T and 2.0T engines. The coils come with an APR logo on a coloured housing and are sold individually, so one is needed for each cylinder.
