APR Iridium Pro Spark Plugs are single heat range 9 plugs in a 14x26.5x16mm size, intended for tuned 2.0 TFSI and TSI EA888 Gen 3 engines in a range of Audi and Volkswagen models. APR says the iridium electrode runs cooler, resists preignition, lasts longer and needs less voltage for a strong spark, and it quotes melting points 152% above silver, 125% above copper and 38% above platinum. The plugs use a non-projected insulator design, and APR says the electrode is optimised for hard-to-ignite fuels such as ethanol. They suit tuned, higher output cars that benefit from a plug two steps colder than the stock heat range 7, and APR states they are made in the EU.
