This open carbon fibre intake from APR is a drop-in system for the Audi S4, S5, Q5 and SQ5 (B8) that removes the airbox altogether. APR describes the factory system as dramatically undersized, with an inlet restriction that becomes obvious at higher power levels, and says its kit installs in minutes. A carbon fibre air dam feeds a large 7 inch filter with a frontal inlet, while a thick T304 stainless steel heat shield and an air buffer gap on the back of the shell reject engine bay heat.
