The APR Open Cold Air Intake is an open intake system for the 2.0T EA888.3/3B engine in the Volkswagen Mk6 Polo GTI (Typ AW) and the Mk2 Audi A1 (Typ GB), and APR says it also fits most 1.8T and 2.0T EA888.3, 3B, 4 and 4B engines across MQB, MQB EVO and MQB Ax platform vehicles. It uses a straight-through, washable and reusable cotton gauze filter that APR says flows 22% more than stock with a lower pressure drop and 20% more surface area. The filter outlet measures 127mm (5") and APR says its cross-sectional area is 260% larger than the stock tube. A glass filled polypropylene heatshield and inlet pipe, along with an airbox fed from the frontal inlet ducting, are intended to keep inlet temperatures down, and the system pops onto the factory mounting pegs.
