APR Open PEX Intake System Audi A3/Q3/S3/TT/TTS/VW Golf R/Jetta/Tiguan

The APR Open PEX Intake System is an open-airbox intake for 1.8T and 2.0T engines that replaces the closed factory airbox with a large 7" washable and reusable cotton filter, a frontal inlet and a 4" rear outlet. APR says the open airbox cuts pressure drop and increases airflow, flowing 833 CFM against 521 CFM for the full factory frontal airbox at 28" of H2O. APR uses PEX for the heat shield shape, which it says gives an OEM feel, keeps hot radiator air away from the intake tract and retains less heat than metal. APR reports that its tuned S3 gained up to 12 AWHP and 13 AWFT-LBS of torque with the full intake system compared to stock.
