The APR PQ35 Ignition Coils are a direct plug-and-play upgrade for the factory coils on PQ35 platform Volkswagen models, offered in red, grey and blue. APR says they raise energy output by up to 10% over stock for a stronger and more consistent spark. The brand notes that swapping in coils from the higher output Audi R8 is a common belief for extra energy, but says its testing shows those coils are no more powerful than the factory coils used on other engines. They suit the Golf GTI Mk5 and Mk6, Golf R Mk6 and Scirocco R, and are not compatible if the factory coils look physically different apart from colour.
