These APR Ignition Coils in the R8 and PQ35 style are a direct plug-and-play upgrade for the factory coils on Audi and Volkswagen 2.0 TFSI engines and on the 4.2L and 5.2L FSI engines, with the R8 V8 and V10 included in the fitment list. APR says they raise energy output by up to 10% over stock for a stronger, more consistent spark, and reports that coils borrowed from the higher output Audi R8 are no stronger than the factory units on other engines. Each coil has a red housing with the APR logo and is sold individually, so a four cylinder engine needs four coil packs. APR warns that coils which look physically different from the factory ones, other than colour, are not compatible.
