APR Shifter Cable Bracket Audi A3 8P/VW Golf GTI Mk5/Mk6/Mk7/Mk7.5/Golf R Mk7/Mk7.5 6MT
The APR Solid Shifter Cable Bracket replaces the factory shifter cable bracket on six-speed manual Audi A3 8P, Volkswagen Golf GTI and Volkswagen Golf R models. APR says its racing experience showed that the factory plastic bracket with rubber bushings can lead to sloppy shifts, missed gears, bracket and bushing failure and even transmission failure, with heat making the bracket flex and break over long races. The APR bracket is cast from 304 stainless steel and swaps the rubber bushings for solid, CNC-machined mounting points that APR says will not wear out or fatigue under heat. With the play and rubbery slop removed, APR says gears are easier to find and each shift feels more direct and solid.
