The APR Valved Cat Back Exhaust System is built for the 2021-on Volkswagen Golf R Mk8 hatch and is made from brushed T304 stainless steel with TIG welding and precision mandrel bends. Oversized 3 inch (76mm) OD piping, larger than the factory 70mm piping, splits into quad 2.5 inch (63.5mm) exits finished with removable matte carbon fibre quad tips. The factory-controlled exhaust valves stay in use, opening under load for a straight, unrestricted path and closing when cruising so dual Helmholtz resonators can cancel drone, which APR says it tuned with 3D sound spectrographs. No sound-absorbing packing is used, and APR says its rigid brackets, low-profile clamps and Torca AccuSeal tip clamps give a precise fit and an easier install.
