DIXCEL Brake Pads - Brembo Pista / Alcon CAR89 / Alcon TA6+ / AP CP9660 (18mm)

Japanese brake specialist DIXCEL makes pads for everything from daily driving to endurance racing, and this pad set suits the Brembo Pista, Alcon CAR89, TA6+ and AP Racing CP9660 calipers (full application list below). It comes in seven DIXCEL compounds, from the M Type for street use to the Specom-β for endurance racing, so the pad can be matched to how the car is driven. DIXCEL says its street compounds come with stop noise shims and pad grease in the box, while the racing compounds work from around 200°C and need bedding in before competition use.

• Specom-α: maximum-bite racing pad for time attack and fast laps on high-grip tyres, raced in Super GT; DIXCEL made it for cars without a brake booster, so it can brake too sharply on a boosted road car
• Specom-β (also listed as Specom B): endurance racing pad for long pad life and stable braking over long stints, used in GT, touring and clubman racing
• Stop noise shims and DIXCEL pad grease in the box with the street compounds (PG101 grease with M Type and ES Type; graphite LP1652 grease with Z Type)
• ES Type: mechanical wear indicators fitted where the car had them from the factory
• RA Type and RE Type: bed in on track before racing (about 5 minutes at 50% braking, cool, then 10 minutes at 70-80%, cool, then build to full effort)
