This is an EBC replacement brake pad wear sensor lead for the rear axle, and it suits the BMW Z4, with the full application list below. EBC makes its wear leads in-house to OEM specification, so they fit and work with both EBC and original equipment pads. When the pads wear down the lead touches the disc and triggers the dash warning, so a lead that has done its job should be replaced at the pad change.
