The ARM Motorsports MK7 Golf R Catted Downpipe is a TIG welded T304 stainless steel downpipe with a 200 cell high-flow catalyst for the Gen 3 EA888 Mk7 Golf R, and the source fitment table also lists the 8V Audi A3 with all-wheel drive. ARM says the factory downpipe is too restrictive to run more than a basic Stage 1 tune safely, and that this one relieves excess back-pressure so boost can be raised with Stage 2 maps and beyond, giving faster turbo spool, more power and torque and a better exhaust note. The brand quotes gains of up to 20awhp and 27awtq. It is made up of an upper section, a midpipe section and an adapter joined by precision machined v-band connections, includes a stainless steel flex section, and has the catalyst in the OEM position, which ARM says avoids extra O2 sensor extension wires and lets it warm up properly.
