Motul 8100 X-Clean GEN 2 is a 100% synthetic 5W40 engine oil that Motul says is approved by many car manufacturers. It is designed for the latest generation of petrol and diesel cars, naturally aspirated or turbocharged, with direct or indirect injection, that meet Euro 4, 5 or 6 emission regulations and require an ACEA C3 oil. That means a high HTHS viscosity above 3.5 mPa.s and a mid SAPS formulation, with sulfated ash up to 0.8%, phosphorus between 0.07% and 0.09% and sulfur up to 0.3%. Motul lists the oil as suitable for catalytic converters and diesel particulate filters (DPF).
