Paragon calls the R7 its maximum friction track and competition compound, quoting a metallic material, an average Mu of 0.48 to 0.53 and an effective range of 212°F to 1562°F (100°C to 850°C). It is aimed at advanced high-speed track events, competition and heavier cars, with good modulation and release and higher fade resistance than the R5 compound. Paragon recommends it for track use only, because the pads make more dust and noise, can wear faster in low-speed braking and do not reach full performance at ambient temperature.
