This set of two magnetic plugs is for the Haldex all-wheel-drive coupling used in smaller VW Group AWD models, including the Golf R, Audi S3, TT RS and Skoda Kodiaq vRS. RacingLine explains that the Haldex oil lets the multi-plate clutch grip, and that wear between the plates slowly produces fine ferrous particles that collect as sludge around the pump oil strainer. The magnets catch those particles so they stop circulating and adding to the sludge that can block the strainer and leave an AWD car running as front-wheel drive. Installation is a simple job at service time, as the two plugs just screw in.
