This PCV breather hose replaces the failure-prone factory corrugated plastic hose on the EA839 2.9TT V6 in the B9 Audi RS4 and RS5 and the C8 Audi S6 and S7. The factory hose relies on two internal check valves to switch between vacuum from the charge air system and from the turbo inlet, and 034Motorsport says these valves often fail early on both stock and tuned cars. A failed valve can let the crankcase pressurise and force hot oil out, with a risk of fire, and the brand's testing found that even the latest factory hose issued under Audi's 2020 service bulletin can still fail.
