APR points out that the factory plastic breather system, which lets transmission fluid expand and gases escape, can become overwhelmed and spill fluid across the engine bay. The APR system adds a compact, easy-to-install catch can that is larger than stock and collects the expanded fluid, with a breather filter venting the trapped gases. Fluid enters the can at an angle to help stop it spraying through the breather filter, and where possible it drains back into the transmission.
