The D-IonizR Carbon Cartridge is a 20 inch replacement pre-filter that combines PP and activated carbon. Bigboi describes it as an economical pre-filtration option that captures sediment such as sand, silt, rust and suspended solids from the water. Fitted ahead of the DI cartridge in a D-IonizR system, Bigboi says it can extend the DI cartridge's life by 20%, based on water at 100PPM. Bigboi recommends replacing it every 3 to 6 months, and notes that actual life varies with water hardness.
